This high security 16 gauge steel console features Tuffy’s patented pushbutton latch system. For safety and convenience while operating the vehicle, the lid also latches closed without having to be locked. It has a spacious compartment for mounting a CD changer, storing tools, electronic equipment, cellular phones, and other valuables. Rubber floor mat is included, other accessories are available (See Accessories).

I just installed the SKU 023 in my 79 FJ40 with factory 4-speed on the floor. I had to drill new holes in the bottom of the console, 15mm in front of the original, so I could shift the console back enough to get the transmission into 4th gear. Other than the issue noted above the unit appears to be well made and should provide a degree of security, for personal property, lacking in the FJ40's

I put this box in my '03 Tacoma and I love it. I mounted it with the lock facing the rear and the cup holder in front. It places the arm rest right where I like it. There's a riser included but not needed for a Taco. A buddy has the same box mounted, lock forward and cup holder in the rear. They work very well however you like it. Throw your plastic console away, drill holes in the bottom to match the factory mount holes and bolt it in! Camera, spotting scope and binoculars are out of the sun and secure.
