The tailgate power-lock switches disable about 16 seconds after locking, so the enclosure stays secured. The lid hinges open for daily access and is held up by an attached support rod. Inside, you get over 20,000 cubic inches of lockable space. The steel side panel does not rely on the wheel well to form the enclosed space, adding another level of security. Built-in weather seals protect the contents, and it works with the OEM storage cover. It fits with or without an OEM hard or soft top. Every mounting bracket is included, and the enclosure fastens to existing OEM points in the vehicle floor with standard hand tools. No drilling is required. When you need to haul larger items, the lid, vertical front, and side panels come off without tools. This enclosure is not compatible with the Wrangler 4xe and does not accommodate the OEM optional Alpine rear speaker. If your JL has the factory subwoofer, choose the cargo enclosure with Alpine subwoofer built for that setup. On 2-door models, the back seat must be removed.
