Tuffy Security for Overlanding

From a winch and a shovel to portable power and your favorite fixings for breakfast, hitting the trail prepared for all eventualities helps make the experience a more enjoyable one.
That goes double for the assurance that comes with knowing your more valuable items are secure when you can’t be with them. Smartphones, laptops, camera gear, firearms and important paperwork are all vulnerable to theft when you’re away from your vehicle in remote areas. Security is perhaps the toughest challenge for Jeep Wrangler owners, particularly when enjoying the vehicle with the top removed, and Tuffy has them covered with a number of clever solutions tailored for the unique design features of the different generations. There are conventional console and glovebox inserts, along with tailgate enclosures, cargo floor cubby lockboxes, portable stand-alone lockboxes, and even overhead console and underhood lockboxes. In short, you could turn your Wrangler into a rock-crawling, trail-busting Fort Knox. There’s even a lock system for the door hinges to prevent them from being stolen.
For convenience, most of the Tuffy security products can be keyed for multiple devices, meaning the key to unlock the console box is the same for the glovebox and/or underseat lockbox, etc. Additionally, the installation for most of the products couldn’t be easier. For console boxes, for example, they generally drop in and are located with security fasteners tied in to the lid hinge or other factory fastener location. There is more to it for some products, but compared to lifting a suspension, wiring auxiliary lights or adding a snorkel, it’s about as easy as it gets when it comes to vehicle enhancements and do-it-yourself projects.

TUFFY SECURITY PRODUCTS RELEASES NEW DECK ENCLOSURE MODELS FOR THE JEEP® WRANGLER JL

CORTEZ, Colo. – Tuffy Security Products has developed two new security deck enclosures specifically designed for the 2018 Jeep® Wrangler JL. The new Model 345 and 351 enclosures create a large lockable trunk space inside the JL.
This patented security deck enclosure’s lid secures shut using the company’s proprietary security system which works in conjunction with the Jeep JL’s locking tailgate. When the lid is closed, and the vehicle’s rear door is shut, both models are locked and secure. Using the attached support rod, the lid can be propped open to store items, and the lid, vertical front and side panels can all be easily removed to transport larger items when necessary. The Model 345 and 351 do not rely on the wheel well to create the enclosed space, thus adding an additional level of security while still providing more than 20,000 cubic inches of storage space.
Tuffy’s Model 345 and 351 are comprised of heavy duty 16-gauge welded steel to be sturdy, but the units are easily installed using only hand tools in the four door Wrangler JL with or without the OEM hardtop. Simply attach the mounting brackets to the OEM mounting points in the cargo area floor. The enclosure remains secure through the tailgate’s lock which utilizes the vehicle’s key fob to lock or automatically becomes disabled after 16 seconds. Items stored on top of the unit can be secured to the Model 345 or 351 using Tuffy’s anchor rails, which are sold separately.
While both models will accommodate the rear cargo storage cover, the Model 351 accommodates the Jeep Wrangler JL’s original equipment Alpine subwoofer option.

TUFFY RELEASES TWO NEW SECURITY OPTIONS FOR JEEP® JL

CORTEZ, Colo. – Tuffy Security Products has released two brand new products specifically designed for the 2018 Jeep® Wrangler JL: the 345 Security Deck Enclosure and the 348 Security Console Safe. Both products incorporate Tuffy’s tried and tested security engineering to protect JL customers from becoming victims of theft when away from the vehicle.
Tuffy’s patent-pending Security Security Console Insert fits both two and four-door JL models and requires no drilling to install. The console insert keeps the lid open while accessing the contents because of its exclusive lid support yet is fully hidden when the lid is closed. Crafted from welded 16-gauge steel, the insert features Tuffy’s patented Pry-Guard locking system which utilizes a 10 tumbler double bitted lock with built-in weather seals and a convenient finger pull to open the box. The powder-coated insert maintains the use of the factory armrest, interior tray, optional light and lid, making it an innovative security product that allows users to not lose any storage room.
With more than 20,000 cubic inches of storage, Tuffy’s Security Deck Enclosure is specifically produced to fit into the rear of the Jeep JL and provides a large lockable area using the company’s patented security system. Working in conjunction with the vehicle’s rear door, the Security Deck Enclosure closes off the open rear of the Jeep to protect contents from all sides, creating a secure trunk area. Power lock switches on the tailgate become disabled 16 seconds after locking the doors with the key fob to ensure the area is protected. The 16-gauge steel weight-bearing enclosure can support items placed on top of it and is easily lifted and removed without tools. In addition, the welded steel lid hinges open and can be held up using the attached support rod. Security Deck Enclosures include built-in weather seals and are fastened to the vehicle without drilling using heavy duty fasteners.
