No Stranger To Tiuffy

"As the title says, I'm no stranger to Tuffy. Had under seat storage and console safe for my JK and now have rear seat storage for my JT. But this one was a bear to install. I'm an engineer so I adapt to the situation. Listen up Tuffy, yon CAN repeat CAN attach the driver side fill plate to the console insert in the comfort of your workshop and still shoehorn the insert into the console. With that done the driver side brace can go in. Now, it's self supporting. The passenger side fill plate goes in with the help of some blue painter tape to hold everything in place until the screw is tightened and the passenger brace goes next. All done. But it took about an hour of trial and error. So, four stars for the aggravation factor and need to buy a flex-head combination wrench. Still a fine product."

Really nice product

"I'm a very handy person and it is a little bit tricky to install especially being in a small space. It has no reflection on the product - yes it's a small space, it's a center console! The product is built well and finished well. The final install looks great and fits great. The only problem I found was the top part of the side pieces were they slide over the flange of the top piece needed to be opened up a little more. It's best to leave the screws a little loose on the filler plates as well to help it all come together more easily. Other than that I'd buy one and install again in a second."

The Most Secure You Can Get

"This small modification turns your center console into a safe. The locking mechanism is so robust and the fit is so perfect, that no penetration from the top is possible. An intruder would need to take an ax to the entire assembly to have any chance of ever breaching it. Assembly can be a little frustrating due to the tight space and often working in the blind. However, if you know what you're doing it is actually fairly simple. Watch the Tuffy installation videos and do the dry-run table assembly yourself and the real installation will be a breeze."

Solid build – A nightmare to install.

"The safe itself is well built and seems solid, but the instructions and installation process are tough to say the least. This is a 2 person job – 1 person to do the work and another to keep the installer from throwing the the pieces across the room. The combo lock reset was near impossible to figure out and only worked because of dumb-luck on my part. The unit itself should have a sticker that reads “NOT Man-hand friendly“. If it weren't for my wife’s dainty paws, this never would have worked out. I give this 3 stars and a giant ”BUYER BEWARE”."

Once it arrived (the shipping

"Once it arrived (the shipping process is slow like a stagecoach slow), I went about installing it. The instructions are so so but the you tube video by Jason was very good and it helped a lot. It fit my Wrangler fine and I had to use the short side rails provided. I purchased the combo lock and it works great. The quality is very good and looks to last for a long time. Took about 75 minutes to install. It would have been quicker but the light source in my dark garage was not the best."

Great product

"I have confidence in the added security of this security safe. The door has a deliberate, firm feel when closing and the lock operates smoothly. Installation really wasn’t that difficult, it was only slightly awkward positioning myself in the front of the Jeep while working. I dry fit the parts together on my table before attempting it in the console, and I highly recommend that technique. I am glad that I decided to go with this and am very satisfied with the result."
