Solid Build, Good Customer Service
"For a vehicle not known for having much (if any) secure storage space, the lockbox adds plenty. The box is solidly built like all Tuffy products and leaves no doubt as to its protection. If you have other Tuffy products, I highly recommend getting the Key-alike service to allow easier access.
Installation is fairly easy requiring only a bit of drilling but into existing OEM mounting points that are obviously marked. Videos exist online to walk you through the process should you have any concern.
My box arrived with mixed up mounting hardware. (You're supposed to have 2 of one type of screw and 2 of another type. I had 3 of one and only 1 of the other.) I contacted Tuffy and within 2 business days I had a response with the missing hardware being rushed to me.
The only issue I've had since then is a slight rattle in the lockbox door lid when at highway speed. Sticking a wad of electrical tape in the jam solved this in the short term. In the long term, I installed some foam sealing tape along the top edge opposite of the box's existing rubber lip. Makes a tighter seal, no more noise. A bit of a hassle, but and easy fix if anyone else has this same issue. Only cost about $1 in material."

Kinda Pricey?
"I like the box, no question. It was a fairly easy Install. Just make sure your bolts are lined up first, especially if you're going to try and do it alone. Having a second person hold the box while you starts the bolts is much easier. Without trying I did easily strip out one of the bolt heads and Replaced it with a bolt from home depot rxcept it was a Philip's head.
I know most things are more expensive these days, I still feel 250to 275 tops is the real value. It does not rattle when driving. Though I only have had it a couple days, it seems solid. I would recommend it."

Handy addition to my JL
"Just started playing with this recently, using it to create a little "chuck wagon" setup for a recent 6-day camping trip for a Jeep Jamboree. It was easily able to fit a compact cook kit and ultralight stove, plenty of fuel, assorted utensils and plates, cleanup gear, and several small lanterns, where I could flip out the tailgate, open the lockbox, and be ready to cook in just a few minutes. Also quite convenient for making a quick cup of tea or hot chocolate later in the evening. Having all the gear packed in organizer bags kept rattling to a minimum even when doing offroad trails on the Jamboree days. Only issues I encountered were that you needed a somewhat level spot to park on if you expect to have a level work surface (I know, I know, that should have been plenty obvious ahead of time!), and that the table area is smooth enough that it doesn't take much of a slant to end up a lightweight stove sliding around. I'm planning to add a cutting board with adjustable feet to my gear, so I can create a level area for the stove even if the Jeep's a bit off-kilter.
If it helps anyone, I did the install single-handed, where I drilled the holes for the offsets through the plastic tailgate facade, slid the main lockbox into the cargo area of the Jeep, crawled into the cargo area myself, and then closed the tailgate. I had cut a stack of cardboard squares out of the shipping box and use them to shim the lockbox up to where it was reasonably well-aligned with the mounting holes, allowing me to then have both hands free to get the bolts aligned and installed. It was definitely a bit cramped back there since I've got a 2-door JL, but it got the job done nice and quickly."

Sturdy unit
"Easy to install with 2 people, sturdy and roomy. Rattles a bit when off-road, but overall this is a great addition to our Jeep."

Amazing product. Worth every penny.
"Definitely recommend. Build quality is great. Definitely heavy duty, and looks incredible. Installation instructions are easy to follow. Installed in less than 30 min.
Only thing keeping this from 5 stars is, since it’s all steel, it’s noisy. Full of rattles, and even worse if you fill it with tools and brackets and whatnot. I get it’s for a Jeep, but it’s extremely loud.
I bought neoprene to line mine with to solve the problem. Perhaps Tuffy consider selling an upgraded version with this as an option."

Great add to my 2020 Rubicon

Great product! A little noisy but easily fixable. Strongly recommend!!!
"This is a great storage solution for my '21 392 Rubicon. It's Tuffy so you already know it's heavy gauged steel and locking and easy to install. The shelving inside is a nice touch to help organize what you put in it, and the door is sturdy enough to use as a make-shift desk or table for sure!
The only "complaint" I have is that it's all steel, so nearly everything is completely metal-on-metal. There is no padding inside or on the locking mechanisms, so it tends to be noisy. I was easily able to remedy this with some neoprene and spray adhesive (I completely lined the inside of mine). I admit maybe I went a little overboard, but rattles drive me nuts. That all said, the box is solid as all get out, and there is no way anyone is getting into it without a cutting torch or a major prybar!
One additional note: I got hit with the "COVID Delay" on my order, but the Tuffy folks were way on top of keeping me informed about my order status. I cant blame them for the delays, but I can blame them for outstanding customer service and great communication (in all the positive ways)!!!"
